The above figures show the speed that information can be downloaded at but be aware that upload speed is always capped at 256k no matter which package you have chosen. A few pointers to note:

If your business requires file transfer from one ADSL site to another, this can only ever be done at a maximum of 256k.

* Be aware of contention ratios. Contention describes the amount of bandwidth shared between users and the ratio states exactly how many people can be sharing at any one time. For example contention ratio of 50:1 means that a user could be possibly connected with forty-nine other people. If the bandwidth provided is 500kbits per second and all fifty people are connected simultaneously, then a 10kbits speed is all that will be obtained. A ratio of 20:1 works in the same fashion - if all twenty people are connecting at the same time, the output for a connection will be 25kbits per second. The likelihood of all people connecting at the same time is generally going to be very slim.
